ASTONISHING VICTORY FOR FABBIANO

Italian Thomas Fabbiano advanced to quarter finals in TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open, outplaying 2nd seed Damir Dzumhur.

World number 32 Damir Dzumhur, who took action in the second game of the day at Garanti Koza Park, made an early exit to the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open. Playing his first match of the week in second round, Dzumhur was beaten against world number 100 Thomas Fabbiano by 6-2, 0-6, 6-2.

Italian Fabbiano clinched his best career win and beat his Bosnian opponent for the second time in their 8th meeting. 28 year-old Fabbiano will face French Jeremy Chardy in his second career ATP quarter final.

Former world 25 Chardy made a comeback against Serbian Dusan Lajovic to mark his first last 8 appearance in 2018. Chary, a first timer in Istanbul Open, overcame Lajovic 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 in 2 hours and 16 minutes.
